Nexon is bringing Lawbreakers to PlayStation 4.

Video game publisher Nexon – best known for MapleStory and Combat Arms – has today confirmed that LawBreakers is coming to PlayStation 4, and will be enhanced for PS4 Pro.

LawBreakers is the new multiplayer FPS from Boss Key Productions and renowned Gears of Wars game designer Cliff Bleszinski. Set in a futuristic Earth where the laws of gravity can be broken, players take part in a war between two factions, the Law and the Breakers.

Here’s a new trailer that shows of some of the game’s gravity-defying thrills.

Nexon has also released details of the game’s revenue mode – about which there has been much speculation – and we rather like what they have come up with.

The base game will be priced at $29.99/£24.99/€29.99, and all future content updates will be completely free. If you want to spend some extra money, it will just be on various character cosmetics that can be earned via game’s Stash-Box system.

In a press statement, Cliff Bleszinski said:

“With LawBreakers, we wanted to honor the skill-based FPS games of yesteryear, all while embracing the new and pushing the genre in our own unique way. We found that messing with gravity, and having it mess with the player, adds a dynamic vertical element that will challenge players of all skill levels to go above their limits. Add in a variety of character role play-styles that go beyond the basic ‘tank, sniper and medic,’ a price point that we feel is fair to the player and the fact that it’s just damn fun to play – we’re confident LawBreakers will be one of the best valued and most challenging FPS games on PC or console.”

LawBreakers represents Nexon’s first venture on console, and it will be fascinating to see how the venture pans out in what is an increasingly competitive market. The PlayStation 4 version of the game will make its playable debut at next month’s E3.
