Microsoft launches its own version of Nintendo Direct with Inside Xbox

Dark Light

Microsoft announce Inside Xbox, a new monthly video broadcast that aims to lift the lid on the Xbox One, and its games.

The debut episode of Inside Xbox will go live on March 10, 2018 at 12pm PT, and will be hosted by a team of Xbox favourites including the reliable Larry Hryb (Major Nelson), with Graeme Boyd, Jeff Rubenstein, Alex Hebert, and Lydia Ellery.

Microsoft describe Inside Xbox as:

“A premier live news broadcast that will highlight breaking announcements and a peek behind the curtain of Team Xbox. A glimpse at the mysteries of game design and a celebration of some of the month’s most exciting games and features.”

The first episode will feature a deep dive on the upcoming Sea of Thieves with the development team from Rare. Microsoft Studios producer, Nico Bihary, will also be on hand to talk about Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, and there will be prize giveaways and various other Xbox-themed shenanigans.

Each episode will be broadcast on Mixer, YouTube, Twitch and Facebook. Microsoft are also looking for fan-feedback that can be submitted via the official Xbox Instagram, Twitter and Facebook channels using #insidexbox.

Inside Xbox has a way to go if it wants to compete with some of the crazier Nintendo Direct offerings, but it will be interesting to see how the magazine-style format pans out, and if it will earn itself the same kind of feverish fanbase.
