Online qualifiers begin in December for NGE’s new Overwatch tournament.

Next Generation Esports have announced that Winter Premiere, a new multi-month Overwatch tournament with a $100,000 prize pool, will begin next month. Online qualifying for the competion will run from 10-13 December and is open to all North American Overwatch teams and competitors who register in advance.

Once the four days of qualifiers are complete, the top eight teams will then face each other over three weeks of Double Round-Robin group play. This will then be followed by a two-day, live final in January, 2017. Each team in the top eight will be battling for a share of the, not insignificant, $100,000 prize pool.

Andy Vander Woude, CEO and co-founder of Next Generation Esports, said:

“NGE’s philosophy is to find the most ambitious esports partners and work with them to elevate their shows. That’s why we’re thrilled to work with Blizzard to create an esports experience perfectly matched to Overwatch fans.”

NGE will also be partnering with Blizzard to produce, direct and broadcast the entire tournament. All online qualifier and group games will be streamed directly from NGE’s studio in California and can be viewed at www.nge.io/winterpremiere.

If you are interested in taking part you can sign up over at the official Overwatch Winter Premiere website.
