You can now download a free trial of Armature’s ReCore on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

The announcement of ReCore was one of the highlights of Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference. The game’s first trailer was intriguing and atmospheric, and the development credentials of Armature and Keiji Inafune promised something special.

Fast forward 16 months and things haven’t turned out how many expected. ReCore made an apologetic playable debut at this year’s E3 and its release in September was met with mediocre reviews. Many critics felt the game wasn’t polished enough and contained all the hallmarks of a rushed and untested release. That said, the game does have its fans and it appears that the core experience (no pun intended) is a lot of fun if you can overlook the game’s rough edges.

Perhaps realising that ReCore’s launch didn’t go to plan Microsoft has now released a free trial version of the game on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

The demo lets you play the first 30 minutes of the game and if you do get hooked you can buy the full game and pick up right where you left off with your progress and achievements intact.
