Developer Croteam has announced Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass, the fourth installment in the cult shooter series.

The announcement was made at the Reboot Develop 2018 keynote, and not many details were shared.

There is a teaser trailer, which showcases the hero on a beefy motorcycle riding through green countryside. It isn’t long before headless, bomb-wielding mad men set upon Sam, and the camera pans back to reveal fields full of them.

Devolver Digital has picked up publishing duties. Expect more details from Devolver at this year’s E3.

With little else to go on for details, the game’s Steam page reads, “Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass reignites the classic series and takes you on an adventure full of bullets, guts, and one-liners.”

Aside from its history with the Serious Sam franchise, Croteam developed The Talos Principle. That was followed, in 2017, with two VR games: The Talos Principle VR, and Serious Sam VR.

Could that mean Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass might contain a VR mode?
