Shadow of War, huh, good god, what is it good for?

E3 2017 is just around the corner. One of the things people are looking forward to is Middle Earth: Shadow of War, the follow-up to 2014’s critically acclaimed Shadow of Mordor.

(Remember when everyone was saying that Shadow of Mordor‘s nemesis system was the best thing since sliced bread, and everyone should, nay would be copying it? – Ed)

Well Shadow of War is aiming to be bigger and better than its predecessor, and if today’s story trailer is anything to go by? It’s certainly going to be big.

Troy Baker – the other one, not Nolan North – is reprising his role as Talion in Shadow of War, and is taking on further responsibility as the game’s Performance Capture Director. Baker is bringing his considerable expertise from the likes of BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 to the overall production, not just to his own performance.

In the wake of the SAG-AFTRA strikes, putting a video game voice actor in charge of the production is a smart move, both in terms of protecting the talent and ensuring a quality production. We’re looking forward to seeing more from this one.
