Atari confirms the Tempest 4000 release date for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
It’s really difficult to like Atari these days, but it’s never ever difficult to like Jeff Minter, nor his ongoing stream of synesthesia video games.
The publisher has today announced the release date for the legendary game designer’s latest opus, a new entry in the iconic and influential Tempest series.
Tempest 4000 will be released on Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2018. That’s next week, calendar watchers.
Tempest 4000 sees the return of the Claw spacecraft on new mission to shoot things and create beautiful neon chaos. The action will, of course, be backed by a ’90s style, adrenaline-pumping techno soundtrack.
Tempest 4000 features three modes – Classic, Pure and Survival – plus one hundred unique geometric levels. It will also include global online leaderboards, and supports 4K resolution on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.
In the US Tempest 4000 will be priced at $29.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and $19.99 on Windows PC via Steam.
