Twitch Prime is what happens you you smush together your Amazon Prime account – yes, the one for free shipping and streaming telly – with your Twitch account.

At first glance, that might seem a little pointless. You don’t need free next day delivery on anything Twitch is selling. But you get ad-free viewing and to sweeten the pot (and justify linking your accounts) Amazon and Twitch give away free stuff with Twitch Prime subscriptions.

Often, it’s useless tat, like skins and cosmetics. (You know, microtransaction fluff, the sort of stuff you’d get mad about if you were expected to buy it with actual money.) But Twitch Prime also gives away free games, and this month, it’s a bumper haul: you’ll get 10 games free with Twitch Prime.

Five of those games come from indie publisher supreme Devolver Digital. Two of them – Ape Out and Gato Roboto – feature on our best games of 2019 list, and Enter the Gungeon? Well, that’s one of the finest indie games of the past decade.

Free games on Twitch Prime for January 2020

  • A Normal Lost Phone
  • Anarcute
  • Ape Out
  • Dandara
  • Enter the Gungeon
  • Gato Roboto
  • Heave Ho
  • Kingdom: New Lands
  • Splasher
  • Witcheye

These 10 games are free on Twitch Prime right now, and will remain free until February 1, 2020. In order to get your hands on them, you’ll need to link your Twitch account to your Amazon Prime account.

Don’t have an Amazon Prime account? You can sign up for one here, including a month’s free trial. (And yes, there’s nothing to stop you taking out the trial, getting the free games, then cancelling your Prime subs.)
