3DS StreetPass Hotspot Finder Announced

Published

on

StreetPass is widely recognised as one of the USPs of the Nintendo 3DS. However, unless you live in a metropolitan area it can take time to meet enough fellow 3DS owners to take full advantage of the various StreetPass games.

Nintendo recently implemented an update whereby you can StreetPass with other 3DS owners at dedicated hot spots. To make things even easier they have now released the StreetPass Hotspot Finder.

Whenever a Nintendo 3DS system connects to a hotspot, StreetPass data is received from the hotspot’s previous visitor. In addition, your own StreetPass data is automatically uploaded to the hotspot, ready to be transferred to the next person that passes by with their Nintendo 3DS.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
