Recently Destructoid spotted that Amazon Prime users have been receiving gaming discounts.
Stealthy gaming discounts.
It’s unusual for Amazon to not be shouting about discounts on offer. It’s highly unusual for them to not be shouting from the rooftops about Amazon Prime. Amazon are more vocal about the virtues of Amazon Prime than Will Smith is about Jaden, but at least there’s a chance people can grow to love Amazon Prime.
This certainly won’t hurt their efforts.
For a relatively small monthly fee of £79 per year – usually subject to some sort of discount or incentive – Amazon Prime users get free delivery on applicable Amazon orders, plus unlimited access to Amazon Prime Instant Video; the streaming service formerly known as LOVEFiLM and chief competitor to Netflix.
To now add gaming discounts into the mix is really rather cool. They’re stealthy discounts because the only indication you’re getting any discount at all is a small box stating “Members of Amazon Prime qualify for a lower price on this item when shipped and sold by Amazon.”
You don’t actually know how much is going to be applied until you get through to your basket, though. Presumably there’s a dice roll against Amazon Prime’s stealth score, or something.
