It’s got everything you’d expect from an Assassin’s Creed trailer – sneaking, fighting, moody monologue, evil Templars, crouching on the top of tall buildings then swan-diving off them – with the added spice of Evie’s twin, Jacob, rocking up and giving her a hand mid-combat.

Now, if you’ve just watched both the Assassin’s Creed Syndicate twin launch trailers through, you’ll have noticed they’re largely the same. Who am I kidding? It’s exactly the bloody same! There are a few sequences altered, and it’s Evie who comes to Jacob’s aid, but there’s a minute and a half of your life you’re not going to get back again.

We think it’s to illustrate the GTA V style approach to split characters, that allows you to play through the open-world sections as either protagonist – and switch between them at will – before being funnelled through main quest sections as the appropriate character for that moment in time. We’ll see how well that pans out tomorrow.
