Stoic Studio has confirmed that Eternal Arena, a new online game mode for tactical RPG, Banner Saga 3, is now in beta ahead of its launch next week.
The mode is the final stretch goal from the game’s successful $416k Kickstarter campaign, and adds a wealth of new online gameplay options. It will officially launch on December 12, 2018.
Eternal Arena includes weekly tournaments, global leaderboards, player-designed battles, and customisable rule-sets. Characters, enemies, and battleboards from the entire Banner Saga are available for use.
Steve Escalante, general manager of publisher, Versus Evil, said in a press release:
“The Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter allowed Stoic to increase the scope, fidelity and production values of Banner Saga 3, and the Eternal Arena represents the final Stretch Goal promise with a mode that will allow its fans and backers to fully explore their tactical whims.”
Oh to have tactical whims.
Banner Saga 3 is out now on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.
