Dark Light

Remember the days when Carmageddon was controversial?

It’s hard imaging the forthcoming Carmageddon: Max Damage creating anything like the furore the original did. And coming off the back of Avalanches’s Mad Max, you have to say it all looks rather quaint.

Set in a world of ‘over-the-top violence’, the game takes a slightly more left-field but just as puerile approach to proceedings than its predecessors. This time round targets to hunt down include pedestrians in wheelchairs & mobility scooters, cyclists, bears and aliens.

It’s classy stuff.

Neil Barnden, brand director at Stainless Games, who created the original game said:

“We’re excited that players on these new platforms will soon be able to enter the warped world of Carmageddon: Max Damage, the carnage-filled antidote to racing games!”

The game features 30 vehicles, 10 environments, multiplayer and career modes and a full-featured action replay mode.

Carmageddon: Max Damage will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
