You can now play a free demo of Civilization VI on PC.

2K and Firaxis Games have released a free playable demo of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. It’s available to download right now for Windows PC on Steam.

The demo includes a full release’s complete tutorial – which should help newcomers get to grips with the game – and lets players take on the nation of China, as led by Qin Shi Huang, the unified country’s first emperor. The demo lets you take up to 60 turns, which should provide more than enough gameplay to determine if it’s to your taste.

The latest instalment in the Civilization series was released in October last year and picked up a bundle of Best Strategy Game awards from the likes of Game Informer, IGN, and The Game Awards.

If you enjoy the Civilization VI demo you can pick up the full game as part of the 2K Publisher Sale, which also begins on Steam today. The game – and its premium DLC packs – will be available for purchase at a discounted price for a limited time. Other titles in the 2K sale include Mafia III, Borderlands 2, X-COM 2, and the entire Bioshock series.
