2K and Firaxis Games unveil the launch trailer for Sid Meier’s Civilization VI as the game becomes available to preload on Steam.

We have two pieces of Civilization VI news for you today. First up, here’s the game’s brand new launch trailer which follows humanity on a journey from the dawn of civilisation through to its exploration of outer space.

The trailer features the game’s rousing new theme music, Sogno di Volare, from composer Christopher Tin. Tin previously composed Baba Yetu, the beautiful title music to Civilization IV which went on to win a Grammy award in 2011.

In today’s other news Firaxis have confirmed that Civilization VI is also now available to preload on Steam in advance of its October 21st release. The game is also available – from a variety of retailers – in a Digital Deluxe edition which includes the full game, the 25th Anniversary Digital Soundtrack and access to four post-launch DLC packs that will add new maps, scenarios, civilizations and leaders.

If you would rather pick the game up on super-modern DVD ROM format, you can also get a copy from Amazon.
