Electronic Arts have announced that EA Play will be returning to Los Angeles in June 2017.
This year’s event will be held between 10th -12th June, meaning that, once again, it will act as a lead in to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which begins on Tuesday 13th June. The event also moves to a brand new venue, the Hollywood Palladium on Sunset Blvd.
EA said in a press release today:
EA Play will feature live streams, deeper looks into EA’s upcoming games and experiences, and content from some of the best creators in the community. For players, content creators, media, industry partners and more.
In 2016 Electronic Arts caused a bit of a kerfuffle by pulling out of E3. The publishing giant instead held two fan-friendly EA Play events in Los Angeles and London.
Many thought the move would sound the death-knell for the long-running E3 but by holding EA Play in the same week – and at a stone’s throw from the LA Convention Center – the move felt rather redundant. Amusingly, Electronic Arts also ended up having to squeeze some of their games onto the E3 show floor in order to gain Game of Show eligibility.
Still, it’s a good to see the return of an event that lets players get their hands on some new games. If you want to attend you can register your interest now over at the official EA Play website.
