EU Nintendo digital releases for 31st March 2016

It’s no longer just about the eShop as Nintendo releases its first mobile app.

It’s no longer just about the eShop as Nintendo releases its first mobile app.

Miitomo is Nintendo’s ‘free-to-start’ social app that lets users have conversations with their buddies using Mii characters. The app has had positive word of mouth and has already passed one million downloads in Japan. There’s no reason to doubt similar success on these shores.

Over on Nintendo’s traditional digital storefronts the pick of the week is probably Metroid: Other M. The game is a curate’s morph-ball that was not particularly loved when it was released in 2010 but is not without its charms. Time for a reappraisal, perhaps?

Here’s the full line-up for this week.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
