Electronic Arts has revealed that the next game in the FIFA franchise will use the Frostbite engine.

The news was announced via a teaser trailer for FIFA 17 which includes some nostalgia-inducing footage from past FIFA titles. The game will make its full debut via an EA PLAY live-stream at 1:00pm PST on 12th June.

According to the accompanying press release, the use of Frostbite will ‘take players to new football worlds and introduces fans to characters full of depth and emotion’. Make of that what you will.

The trailer also reveals this year’s crop ambassadors for the game. They are Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez , Anthony Martial of Manchester Utd, Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC, and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus. Along with contributing to the development of the game the ambassadors also appear as part of  the FIFA 17 pre-order shenanigans as loan players in FIFA 17 Ultimate Team.

FIFA 17 will be released in North America on 27th September and around the rest of the world on 29th September.
