CCP Games to release the third major update for EVE: Valkyrie on 7th December.

Virtual reality space shooter EVE: Valkyrie is something of a VR trailblazer, with versions available on Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and HTC Vive. Since release developers CCP have been supporting and improving the game with a steady steam of patches and two gameplay updates: Carrier Assault and Joint Strike.

The new Gatecrash update was revealed by CCP’s lead designer Andrew Willans during this weekend’s PlayStation Experience and will be available to download for free from Wednesday 7th December, 2016. The update adds a new map, gameplay features, customisation options and support for PlayStation 4 Pro.

The update’s headline addition is a brand new multiplayer map called Gateway. The map – which is set among a beautiful field of ice asteroids – introduces a new warp-point gameplay mechanic that transports players from one side of the map to the other.

In addition, the update’s new pilot customisation system allows players to change their appearance by choosing from a range of new helmet and suit designs. The designs are available to purchase using EVE: Valkyrie’s in-game currency.

Gatecrash also adds PlayStation 4 Pro support, with improvements including increased resolution, dynamic shadows, improved particle effects and faster loading times.

You might think that after three huge updates to EVE: Valkyrie CCP would be calling it a day? Not at all, they promise that more are coming soon.
