Rock Band developer Harmonix Music Systems announces SingSpace, a new social karaoke experience.

SingSpace 1

Rock Band 4 developer Harmonix Music Systems reveals SingSpace, a new virtual reality karaoke experience.

The announcement came at today’s Oculus Connect event in San Jose. SingSpace will be exclusive to the Oculus powered Samsung Gear VR platform and is due for release in spring 2017

The game’s emphasis is on social play but, as seen in the trailer, the game will also support solo singing for those who like to express themselves in private.

Harmomix are no strangers to VR game development and are also supporting Sony’s PlayStation VR platform with Harmonix Music VR.

Is this the future of virtual really we all hoped for? We’re not so sure.

If you want to know more about the game you can get regular updates over at the SingSpace‘s official Facebook page.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
