Is it worth playing Dark Souls via Xbox One backwards compatibility?

If you’re anticipating the upcoming release of Dark Souls 3 you might be thinking of giving the original a whirl, especially as it’s now available – via backwards compatibility – on Xbox One.

However, if you still have an Xbox 360 it might be worth hanging onto it for a little longer. The fine folks over at Digital Foundry have compared how the game runs on both platforms and although it performs okay on Xbox One it does suffer from some frame-pacing issues – and is a bit dark.

Is this enough to make a huge difference? Probably not but we’re a picky bunch, so it looks like playing on Xbox 360 remains the best option.
