Industry charmer Major Nelson to deliver opening keynote at PAX Australia 2016.

Xbox Live’s director of programming, aka Larry Hyrb, has been the popular face of Xbox since 2003. His engaging social banter and weekly podcast, Major Nelson Radio, demonstrate a genuine love for games and provide as open a look at the workings of Microsoft’s Xbox division as you could ever expect to find from a giant corporation.

And most of all he’s the consummate showman, exactly the sort of person you’d like to keynote a giant consumer event.

Jerry Holkins, co-founder of Penny Arcade said:

“As the embodiment of Xbox and Xbox Live, Major Nelson has seen it all. I will be there with everyone else when the show kicks off, ready to absorb his wisdom.”

The ‘gamer first’ PAX expos –held in the United States and Australia – are now some of the largest and most established gaming festivals in the world, with each event attracting tens of thousands of attendees. PAX Aus 2016 is expected to be the largest yet and is being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4-6 November, 2016
