Capcom announce the official release date for Mega Man 11.

Capcom have confirmed that the next mainline entry in the Mega Man series will be released on October 2, 2018, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Mega Man 11 arrives as part of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the first Mega Man, which was released on the NES/Famicom in late 1987.

Rather than following the current trend for replicating the graphical style of the 8-bit era, Mega Man 11 features a new anime aesthetic that’s… interesting. The series’ trademark jump, slide, and shoot gameplay remains intact, however.

The game will see the Blue Bomber face long-time foe Dr. Wily with the aid of a new Double Gear system which can expand his abilities with new powers. New assets released by Capcom also reveal two of the game’s bosses: Block Man and Fuse Man.

If you’ve never played a game in the series before, now is a good time to jump on board. The Nintendo Switch recently received the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2, and two Mega Man X Legacy Collections will come to all platforms in July.
