New trailer showcases Monster Hunter Generations’ Hunter Styles.

Nintendo and Capcom have released a new trailer for Monster Hunter Generations that details the game’s new playing styles. For the first time in the series players will be able to change how they play with Hunter Styles and equip unique abilities called Hunter Arts. The mechanic is aimed at encouraging players to experiment to find the perfect fit for how they want to play with each of the game’s 14 weapon types.

In addition, players can take on quests as a Felyne for the first time, in the new Prowler mode, making true a long-held dream for fans of the furry companions.

Monster Hunter Generations also features a roster of new monsters, special Deviant Monsters – such as the returning Deadqueen Rathian –and a mix of old and new hunting locations.

Monster Hunter Generations will be released on Nintendo 3DS this summer and is available to pre-order from Amazon now.

We have a favour to ask

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
