Nintendo eShop releases (EU) for 1st December 2016

Here’s your summary of the week’s Nintendo eShop releases on 3DS and Wii U.

Nintendo eShop releases

Here’s your round-up of the week’s Nintendo eShop releases on 3DS and Wii U.

It’s a solid week on the Nintendo eShop, particularly on 3DS which sees two big releases. First up is the handheld edition of Super Mario Maker. Although the 3DS version lacks the online features of its Wii U predecessor the game feels like a natural fit and we wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes more popular overall.

Also released is Picross 3D: Round 2 which, based on its demo, will be wonderful, and the Deep Silver published RPG, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD.

Over on Wii U there’s another outing for the Wii version of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. It’s not quite a drum-thumpingly good as the GameCube original but it is a little less likely to annoy the neighbours. It’s a great game from the team that went on to create the Super Mario Galaxy series.

There’s also a huge sale of Sonic the Hedgehog games beginning this week with discounts applied to games including Sonic Boom: Fire & IceSonic GenerationsSonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed plus a heap of classic Sonic games on Virtual Console.

Here’s the rest of this week’s Nintendo eShop line-up:

Thumbsticks has a couple of main aims. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. But it's difficult to make ends meet in online publishing at the moment, so if you'd like to help us continue our work, you could always buy the team a cup of coffee.
