Dark Light

Axiom Verge and Metroid Prime: Federation Force are the stars of this week’s Nintendo eShop releases.

Well, it’s here at last. Poor old Metroid Prime: Federation Force, the game hung out to dry before it even had a chance to impress. Sure, it’s E3 2015 reveal was pretty terrible and no, it’s not the Metroid game we’re looking for, but most reviews point to this being a solid title from a studio with an excellent pedigree. We see cult status assured in the long-term.

But if you do fancy something a little more like a traditional Metroid adventure, you’re in luck. Thomas Happ’s sparkling Axiom Verge comes to the Wii U at long last. With the Wii U gamepad used for the game’s map, this could turn out to be the best version released so far.

Here are the rest of this week’s releases.
