Super Paper Mario and Mega Man prop up this week’s  Nintendo eShop release line-up.

There’s a slightly more robust feel to this week’s Nintendo eShop offering after last week’s paltry two releases.

The under-appreciated Wii RPG platformer Super Paper Mario comes to Wii U. It’s a game often criticised for not being a fully fledged Paper Mario game but to our minds is a hidden gem, full of playfulness and with lots of interesting riffs on the paper folding conceit.

It’s joined on Wii U by – among others – Frankenstein – Master of Death. We can only imagine how thrilled Mary Shelley would be to see her creation finally become a hidden object game.

Over on New 3DS there are two new Virtual Console games in the shape of Mega Man X2 and X3.  As with other SNES Virtual Console releases if you buy one the other is half price for a limited time.

Here’s the full release list.

We hate to ask, but...

Thumbsticks has a couple of goals. We want to write interesting articles and cover games that most outlets won't, and we want to give opportunities to new writers and new voices. And right now, with the current state of online publishing? It's tough to meet those goals! We hate to ask, but if you want us to continue writing what others won't, or to keep covering weird indie games, or to be able to give opportunities to new writers – and only if you can afford it – then please consider supporting us on Patreon.
