Nintendo eShop releases for 27th April, 2017

Here’s the full rundown of this week’s Nintendo eShop games for the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and 3DS.

It’s a good week for Nintendo’s new console, with two big titles released. First up is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The port of the 2014 Wii U hit adds a much-improved battle mode, new characters, and all of the original game’s add-on content. Throw in an improved screen resolution, plus a multitude of local and online multiplayer options, and you have a package that’s hard to resist, despite its heritage.

Also coming to Switch is Puyo Puyo Tetris. This smash-up of two classics sounds like it should be a disaster, but somehow Sonic Team have pulled it off, and the result is an addictive – if somewhat chaotic – puzzle experience. There’s a free demo available on the eShop, so maybe try before you buy.

There’s not much to report on the 3DS and Wii U, the pick of the bunch being word-based party game, Use Your Words.
