You’d like an Oculus Rift pre-order? Well a countdown on their website says you’ll be able to put your name down for one in under 48 hours.
Everybody loves getting excited over a good old-fashioned countdown clock. There’s something about an ominous tick, dripping down towards zero, that just gets us all giddy inside. Like disarming a bomb at the end of an action movie, except there’s something really good at the end of it.
Unfortunately there’s always going to be people getting over-excited and trying to spoil your grand reveal – just look at the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided reveal leak from earlier in the year, or when we got a bit carried away with the Fallout 4 countdown clock – but there is one sure-fire method of making sure nobody steals your thunder: tell everybody what the countdown is for beforehand, and eschew all that tedious secrecy, as we see here with the Oculus Rift pre-order countdown.
Of course, there’s still plenty we don’t know about the Oculus Rift pre-order – like how much they’ll cost or when you can actually have one – but we do know that they’ll commence in almost exactly 46 hours on January 6, and you’ll get a free copy of both EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tail for your trouble.
