Pokémon GO Plus gets an official UK release date and opens for pre-orders.

Pokémon GO Plus, the dinky wearable device that means you can play Pokémon GO without looking at your phone, will launch in UK next week.

The device is compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones and connects via Bluetooth. Essentially the device notifies the user when Pokémon and PokéStops are nearby by vibrating and flashing green. To throw a Poké Ball it’s a simple tap of the button and a successful catch will result in the device flashing and vibrating even more. Pokémon and items you collect can then be transferred to the full game.

At yesterday’s Apple Keynote Pokémon GO was also announced for Apple Watch and will be released later this year.

Pokémon GO Plus device compatibility

iOS

  • Compatible OS versions: iOS 8 – 9
  • Compatible with: iPhone® 5/5c/5s/SE/6/6s/6 Plus/6s Plus

Android

  • Compatible OS versions: Android 4.4 – 6.0
  • Compatible with: Android 4.4 or higher that have Bluetooth v4.0 or higher capability and RAM2GB or more

Pokémon GO Plus is now available to order from the Nintendo Official UK Store priced £34.99. At the moment orders are limited to one device per customers. According to Nintendo  availability at other retailers will be confirmed soon.
