Pokkén Tournament added to championship roster.

Details of the Pokémon 2016 European National Championships have been announced with heats taking place in three cities across Europe.

Pokémon 2016 European National Championships

  • 14–15 May: Liverpool, UK (Exhibition Centre Liverpool)
  • 21–22 May: Kassel, Germany (Kongress Palais Kassel)
  • 11–12 June: Milan, Italy (Mediolanum Forum, Assago MI)

Along with the usual Trading Card Game and Video Game Championships, Pokkén Tournament will be featured in the competition for the first time. The new game provides another route for entrants to get to the 2016 Pokémon World Championships, which has a prize pool worth over $100,000.

The top Pokémon players from Europe will be invited to compete at the finals in San Francisco, this August. And the very best players will also get the cost of their flights and accommodations picked up too.

Those that miss out will just have to train a Zubat or a Hoothoot to get across the Atlantic, we suppose.
