The original soundtrack for Gears of War 4 is released today by Sumthing Else Music Works.
The score is composed by the Grammy and Emmy nominated Ramin Djawadi who has previous written music for films including Iron Man and Pacific Rim plus, of course, the memorable soundtrack and title theme for HBO’s Game of Thrones.
The soundtrack is published by Sumthing Else Music Works, who specialise in the release of video game soundtracks, and is available now in digital and physical formats.
The first chapter in The Coalition’s new Gears of War series has widely been hailed as a return to form for the franchise, and Djawadi’s score has received much praise for the dark tone and driving rhythms featured in tracks such as In and Out and The Prodigal Son.
Speaking in a ‘Making of’ video back in August, Djawadi explained what attracted to him to compose the music for Gears of War 4.
[youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cd7YJqtaEY” autoplay=”no”]“Gears 4 is definitely action-driven but what really appealed to me too was that there was an underlying emotional through-line in the game that I really like.”
Gears of War 4 – The Soundtrack is available to buy now on iTunes, the Sumthing Else website and Amazon.
