Dark Light

It’s time to celebrate Rocket League’s second anniversary with a big birthday update.

Oh, how wrong I was. I recall Rocket League debuting on PlayStation Plus back in 2015, and thinking to myself, this game has no chance. 33 million players later, I think it’s safe to say I was slightly wide of the mark.

It’s not the first time this has happened, and I doubt it will be the last. In fact I distinctly remember laughing my head off at an early Spice Girls performance on GMTV, and making the same proclamation. At least with Rocket League the end product was actually good. And to celebrate the game’s achievements, Psyonix are today releasing a big new birthday update.

The Anniversary Update will be available from 3pm PDT today – July 5th –  and features a free new arena named Champions Field, plus range of other content including new cars, a music playlist, and Rick & Morty customisation items.

Here’s the full list of content:

Rocket League Anniversary Update Content

  • Rick & Morty customisations items, including Rick and Morty Antennas, Cromulon, Mr. Meeseeks, and Mr. PBH Toppers, an Interdimensional GB Rocket Boost, and Sanchez DC-137 Wheels

  • New Import Battle-Cars: Animus GP and Centio V17
