Marvel’s Spider-Man sets records as it takes top spot in the UK video games chart.
Three new games enter the UK video games top ten, but none can beat PlayStation 4 exclusive, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
According to GfK Chart Track, Insomniac’s game is the fastest selling Marvel video game ever, and the biggest individual format debut since Call of Duty: WWII on PlayStation 4 last year. Last week’s number one, F1 2018, falls three places to fourth.
Entering the chart in second place is another PlayStation 4 exclusive, the Square Enix JRPG, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. It’s a solid effort for a series that has always struggled to break through in the West. Last week’s No.2, Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, drops four places to No.6.
Destiny 2 Forsaken, the latest make-good Bungie’s online shooter, debuts at No.8, and Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy remains rooted in the top ten at No.5.
Further down the chart, PSVR shooter Firewall Zero Hour shows some staying power, only slipping three places to No.14, and Sonic Mania Plus moves right up the chart, jumping from No.24 to No.13.
