St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko announced winner of the NHL 17 fan-selected cover vote.

Tarasenkowas was revealed as the winner in a new trailer for NHL 17 after six million votes were cast on Twitter and the NHL website.

“It’s an incredible honour to represent my teammates and all the Blues fans around the world on the cover this year,” said Tarasenko. “As a player, it’s a big deal to be fan selected for something like the Cover Vote, and I’m excited to be involved in the game this year.”

EA Sports have also announced that registration is open for the NHL 17 public beta, starting July 28. The beta will include three playable game modes: Online Versus, EA SPORTS Hockey League, and Hockey Ultimate Team, as well as access to the Creation Zone.

To get early access you have to give away a piece of your soul by signing up to become an EA Sports NHL 17 Insider. This gets you early access to the beta, as well as a first look at news, trailers and other marketing guff, before the game’s worldwide release on 13 September, 2016.

“Last year we held our first ever beta and the feedback we received from fans helped us create a great experience at launch,” said Lead Producer, Sean Ramjagsingh. “For NHL 17 we’re opening up access to more players and we can’t wait for them to get their hands on the game.”

Beta registration is open until 7 July and the beta itself is scheduled to run from 28 July through to 4 August.

You can register at www.easports.com/nhl/beta.

EA Access members on Xbox One can try all the features of NHL 17 before its release with Play First Trials. Lucky sausages.

  1. After a recent chat with ScrappySphinx, discussing the American sports game franchises that we used to play as teens, NHL was one that we both seemed to have on platforms such as the Mega Drive and PS1. I think that I may have to bite the bullet and purchase NHL 17 once released as I really enjoyed them back in the day.
