Steep – Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world, winter sports game – will receive two beta phases in November.
The fun begins with an early access beta which will run between 10 – 14 November. This will be followed by an open beta which will run between 19 – 21 November. Access to both phases will be via digital download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
For a chance to join the early access beta you can register your interest – before 9th November – at the official Steep website.
The beta will introduce players to three of the seven Alps-inspired regions that feature in Ubisoft’s latest open-world; the Aravis, the Tyrol and the Needles. Nine narrative-based contests, called Mountain Stories, will also be available and their successful completion will unlock new gear customisation options that can be carried over into the full game.
Steep is the dark horse of Ubisoft’s fall line-up. The game – which is developed by Ubisoft Annecy – includes various snow sport activities including skiing, wingsuiting, snowboarding and paragliding. At first glance it’s just another twist on the standard open world formula but its wide range of activities and social elements set it apart from Ubisoft’s other sandbox games.
Steep will be available worldwide from 2nd December on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
