Things are taking a weird turn at Game Grumps, developer of 2017's surprise hit Dream Daddy. This is Homebody. Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator was the debut game from Game Grumps, one of the few YouTube channels who put their money where their mouth is, making the transition from armchair game developers to actual game developers. It was a surprise hit. From its surprisingly intricate visual novel underpinnings to its lovely, soft, dad-bod visuals, people really connected with Dream Daddy. Its unsurprising that we're seeing a follow-up from Game Grumps, then. But what form that follow-up has taken is... not what you might expect from the Dream Daddy developer. This is Homebody. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v1YYl9UJi06U We don't have a great deal of information about Homebody, other than what's in the teaser trailer. There's some 80s horror movie influences in there on the content front, but visually, it's very reminiscent of Variable State's Virginia and Last Stop. Those Variable State comparisons don't stop there – in addition to its horror, Homebody also promises to incorporate some strong narrative elements. (That Dream Daddy experience isn't entirely going to waste, then.) Homebody is "coming soon" to PC and consoles.
