Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ll – The Sith Lords will be released for iPhone, iPad and Android devices next week. The classic Bioware RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was first released for mobile platforms way back in 2013, debuting on iOS before coming to Android a year later. It's an excellent port that does a remarkably good job of adding simple touch-screen controls to a relatively complex game. It's somewhat surprising that it has taken quite so long for Obsidian Entertainment's acclaimed follow-up to make the same journey. That changes when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II comes to iOS and Android on December 18, 2020. The mobile release comes via Aspyr, the studio behind the multi-platform ports of Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and my personal favourite, Star Wars: Episode 1 - Racer. The complete game is included, with controls once again optimised for touch screen inputs. Speaking about the game, Elizabeth Howard, vice president of publishing at Aspyr, says: “Fans have been asking for a mobile version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II for so long, and we’re thrilled to finally bring it to them. We’re proud to continue working with Lucasfilm to bring classic titles like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II to modern platforms.” The game is available to pre-order now from the Apple App Store and Google Play store, priced at $14.99 USD And okay, okay, I’ll say it.
