Play local co-op as Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima in Streets of Kamurocho, available for a limited time only. Sega is celebrating its diamond jubilee this year. (That's 60 years for people who don't count in minerals, like very old married couples and the Queen of England.) Core to that celebration was a big old sale on Steam, featuring up to 95% off some classic and modern Sega titles, and a nearly-as-big sale on the Nintendo eShop, with up to 60% off Sega games for the Nintendo Switch. But that's not all that's going on for Sega's 60th birthday. Sonic is now playable in Fall Guys, for one thing. (Even if the blue blur costume is quite... rotund.) And there are rumours of a Dreamcast mini console swirling, too. (We'll report on that in full if and when it gets confirmed, thanks.) The latest treat is a real left-field surprise, though: a mashup of Streets of Rage and Yakuza, called Streets of Kamurocho. Far from a fan project that might get shuttered at any moment, Streets of Kamurocho is an official curio, developed for Sega and Yakuza developer RGG by Empty Clip Studios. It features the action and visuals of Streets of Rage, paired with the characters and setting from the Yakuza series. You could even argue \u2013 given Yakuza's modern take on the street brawler \u2013 that Streets of Kamurocho is even a demake, which are very popular at the moment. Streets of Kamurocho is only available on Steam for a limited time, however. It launches on October 17 and then is gone again on October 19. Kiryu and Majima are, as ever, here for a good time, not a long time. Like free stuff? Bookmark our dedicated landing page for freebies. Prefer general video game news?
