Thanks for listening, children. Fallout 4's release is growing ever-closer and there was exciting news out of Bethesda this week: The dialogue recording is complete. Many years of #Fallout4 voice recording complete! Just over 111k lines. More than Fallout 3 and Skyrim combined. pic.twitter.com/hwNu2GNg5m — BethesdaGameStudios (@BethesdaStudios) September 3, 2015 Bethesda tell us that they're recorded over 111,000 (yes, that's more than one hundred and eleven thousand) lines of dialogue for Fallout 4. That's more than Fallout 3 and Skyrim combined. It's really no surprise when you consider that not only is Fallout 4 going to be huge (it's a Bethesda game) but the protagonist is going to be speaking for the first time; that basically doubles the size of every potential conversation, because there's automatically a second side to it. Silent protagonist no more, Vault Dweller. While we don't know a great deal of what's in the recorded lines thus far, knowing that Bethesda have called a wrap on the dialogue recording does mean we definitely know something that won't be included: There will be no Three Dog in Fallout 4. In an odd turn of events, where Three Dog voice actor Erik Todd Dellums was one of the first to seemingly confirm the true existence of Fallout 4 way back in January: — Erik Todd Dellums (@ETDellums) January 8, 2013 He has however recently taken to Twitter to sadly confirm that there will be no Three Dog in Fallout 4: I admit, the finality of this tweet felt like a gut punch. Sad to not be included. Best with the game. #ShareLove https://t.co/EN2A7DNctf — Erik Todd Dellums (@ETDellums) September 3, 2015 No Three Dog in Fallout 4? Sad times, Wastelanders. It seems that the Lone Wanderer of Vault 101's efforts to restore the wide-area broadcasting abilities of Galaxy News Radio – by replacing the Super Mutant-damaged broadcasting antenna atop the Washington Monument – have been in vain. We will not be hearing Three Dog's distinct broadcasting style in the wastes of Boston... at least in the main game. "Until next time, this is Three Dog, and you're listening to Galaxy News Radio, Bringing you the truth, no matter how bad it hurts." – Three Dog, Fallout 3 Here's hoping we'll see Three Dog back in one of the (inevitably very, very many) Fallout 4 DLC releases. Pre-order Fallout 4 from Amazon now. Sad that there's no Three Dog in Fallout 4? You could pick up Fallout 3, just to hear his voice again.
