Tony Hawk has confirmed that his long working relationship with publisher Activision is over. For most of us it’s been pretty clear that the once world-beating Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise has been dead for a while now. Fans were asking the skateboard legend on Twitter about the chance for any remasters being released and about the current quality of the series. Hawk had this to say: "To anyone asking me to ‘remaster’ old games, or complaining about THPS servers being down: Activision owns the THPS license but I am no longer working with them. If I had the skills / authority to reboot servers or code games for newer systems on my own, I would be happy to..." It’s no surprise that Hawk has distanced himself from the series. When the original developer, Neversoft, was closed in 2014, new developer Robomodo stepped in and the series has never been as good – reaching a very low point in 2015 with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. Hawk has previously hinted that he is working on a new game without Activision, but there aren’t any details on that one yet.
