Dark Light

Here’s our first look at gameplay from the upcoming dictator simulator, Tropico 6.

El Presidente is back in this new Tropico 6 Gamescom trailer from Kalypso Media. The new footage showcases the game’s brand new engine, and teases some new gameplay features that look to freshen up the long-running series.

New additions include expansive archipelagos, advanced transport infrastructure, and customisable palaces. Election speeches also make a welcome return, as does the ability to steal world monuments and global landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower.

Of course, you can also play the game as a kind and generous statesman, but who would want to do that? The fun of this series has always been in acting out a dictatorial fantasy, the likes of which could never ever happen in the real world.

Tropico 6 will also include co-operative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players.

Here are a selection of screenshots from an early build of the Windows PC version of the game.

Tropico 6 is due for release on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018.
