The upcoming World of Final Fantasy will receive a free playable demo on October 17, 2016.

Square-Enix’s family-friendly RPG combines traditional role-playing gameplay mechanics with toy-like visuals in an attempt to entice newcomers to the series, as well as provide some fan service for long-time Final Fantasy enthusiasts.

The PS4 demo will be available to download from the PlayStation Store from next Tuesday and puts players in the roles of Reynn and Lann. Some classic Final Fantasy characters will also make an appearance, including Cloud, Lightning and Squall. Completing the demo unlocks the Magitek Armor P in the Coliseum to battle and capture in the full version of the game.

The news comes alongside the release of the full-length animated opening cinematic for the game which shows Reynn and Lann entering the world of Grymoire and encountering some of the game’s Mirages.

World of Final Fantasy will be released on October 25 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita priced $59.99. The Day One edition includes extra digital content, including an exclusive Sephiroth summon and the Japanese voice-over option add-on.
