Here are the four titles coming to Xbox Games With Gold in April 2017.
Microsoft has revealed the Xbox Live Games With Gold lineup for April 2017, and it’s a collection of solid, if unspectacular, releases.
From April 1 Xbox One owners will be able to download Ryse: Son of Rome, the visually impressive, but ultimately simple, hack-and-slash game from Crytek that arrived alongside the console in 2013.
From the middle of April, the complete second season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will be free to download. Season 2 doesn’t quite reach the heights of the first, but it still provides a memorable story and plenty of nail-biting decisions to chew over.
Over on Xbox 360 – and Xbox One via the magic of Backwards Compatibility – are two ageing but decent titles. First up is Darksiders, the cult action adventure from Vigil Games. It’s joined two weeks later by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the underrated conclusion to the trilogy of assassins games focused on Ezio Auditore.
So, no bad titles at all in this lineup – with only Ryse: Son of Rome being a little dubious – but there’s nothing to get too excited about, either. Both Darksiders and Assassin’s Creed Revelations have recently received current-gen makeovers, and that probably remains the best way to experience them.
