A packed week on Xbox One see the release of Gears of War 4, the Play First Trial of Battlefield 1 and the return of Duke Nukem.
This week’s big Xbox One release is Gears of War 4. Reviews have been universally positive for a game that had done its best to dampen our expectations. The Coalition appears to have pulled of the remarkable trick of reinvigorating the franchise with style and substance as well as honouring its past.
If you subscribe to EA Access you a can also look forward to the Play First Trial of EA’s Battlefield 1, which begins on Thursday. Horses, tanks and 64 player online multiplayer battles await.
Also released this week is an update to Rise of the Tomb Raider which adds the new Blood Ties story content and the obligatory zombie mode in the shape of Lara’s Nightmare.
Speaking of gaming icons from the ’90s, this Wednesday sees the return of Duke in Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour. The game features four classic Duke Nukem 3D episodes plus an all new fifth episode from the game’s original designers.
