Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters will be released in Europe this autumn.

The Yo-kai Watch franchise continues its – occasionally unflattering – imitation of the Pokémon series, with the news that Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters will be released in Europe later this year.

The game features the full Yo-kai Watch 2 experience – including all of the content from Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls – but also adds a range of new gameplay features and extra content.

The big-ticket item is a total of 12 brand new quests, including one that delves into the origins of the original release’s mysterious Darknyan, giving the game a total of 100 quests to tackle. The game also adds the opportunity to befriend 15 Wicked Yo-kai, who have previously only appeared as enemies in the series. This bumps the playable Yo-kai total up to 300.

Other additions include exclusive dungeons for players with save data from either Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, and the new Gera Gera location to explore. Finally, there’s an expanded version of the Blasters local co-op mode, with new bosses to tackle.

Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters will be released on Nintendo 3DS. We’ll let you know as soon as an exact date is confirmed.
