The release of forthcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, Gravity Rush 2, has been pushed into January 2017.
Gravity Rush 2 was originally due for release on 4 December, 2016 but will now go on sale on 18 January in Europe and 20 January in North America and the UK.
In an announcement on the PlayStation Blog the game’s director, Keiichiro Toyama,
development is actually proceeding very well. Reading between the lines it appears that the reason for the delay is to give the game a better chance of finding an audience away from the pre-Christmas hubbub. It certainly moves the game away from Sony’s other big December release, The Last Guardian. In the post Toyama
“A lot of work went into online features that allow for asynchronous player interaction, we want as many people as possible playing the title at the same time.”
By way of an apology Gravity Rush 2‘s post-release story DLC will now be made available free of charge.
Sad news, for sure but if you haven’t played the first game then the recent PlayStation 4 Remaster of the original Gravity Rush is highly recommended and available now.
