In a video posted to Twitter, the Indie World team highlighted the 15 best-selling indie games on Nintendo Switch over the past 12 months.
If you’ve ever written about video game charts (we have; we don’t entirely recommend it as a stimulating way to pass the time) then you’ll know that digital sales figures can be notoriously difficult to get hold of. Yes, we all know that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold buckets at retail every week, but what about some of the Switch’s relative minnows?
Thankfully, hot on the heels of its recent Indie World video presentation, Nintendo has revealed the 15 best-selling indie games on Nintendo Switch through 2021. Alas, we don’t know the figures. Nor do we know if this is in any kind of deliberate order. (We’re presuming it is, because it’s certainly not alphabetical, but it’s hard to say if it’s ascending or descending.)
But it’s more information than we’d normally get on digital-only sales and indie games in particular, so we’re counting it as a win. As an added bonus, it’s a list of interesting indie games you should check out. The wisdom of crowds, and all that.
