Redfall headlines this week’s lineup of new video game releases for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
Redfall is the new open-world, co-op FPS developed by Arkane Austin, makers of Prey. Pre-release chatter has focussed on the game’s Xbox Series S performance at launch, but we have a hunch this will shift to tales of emergent gameplay once it’s in players’ hands. Redfall is released for Xbox consoles and PC this Tuesday.
Super Dungeon Maker arrives a day later and aims to bring Super Mario Maker-style level creation tools to Zelda-like dungeons. The game’s PC release was well received, and we’re hopeful the creation interface will survive the move to the Switch’s smaller screen without too many compromises.
This week’s other new video game releases include Swordbreaker: Origins, Space Gladiators, and a PS4 and Xbox One release for Hogwarts Legacy.
