Nintendo’s collection of memorable game soundtracks has found a new home. Here’s our regularly updated roundup of every album included on the Nintendo Music mobile app.
The Nintendo Music app is available to download on both iOS and Android devices. Access is available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, including all Family Plan members.
The app offers a range of soundtracks from iconic franchises including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Splatoon. Although the selection process and release schedule is somewhat unpredictable, new albums seem to be arriving on a regular clip.
Nintendo Music isn’t without controversy, however. One baffling omission is a lack of artist credits. Despite the app featuring compositions from the legendary Koji Kondo, David Wise, and many others, there’s no acknowledgment of their talents to be found within the app. It’s an unfortunate oversight that we hope will be fixed.
Despite this flaw, it’s good to see Nintendo add more value to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription instead of simply adding these tracks to existing music streaming services.
The Nintendo Music app also includes several impressive features, the most notable being a coolloop function that allows you to extend the playtime of your favourite tracks. Additionally, there are some excellent playlists to explore, with the Animal Crossing Rainy Day selection being a particular favourite here at Thumbsticks.
We’ll keep this list updated with new soundtracks as they are added.
